Matthew Bourne Osteopath
Matthew and Julie Bourne

Since graduating from the European School of Osteopathy in 1998, Matthew has been a practicing Osteopath with his wife Julie doing all of the Practice Management, sorting appointments running the clinic and generally keeping everyone on their toes!

The practice has developed in various ways over the years but is very much arranged around the principles of the Triad of Health – The Structural, Chemical and Emotional aspects of health, with initially the inclusion of Applied Kinesiology of which Matthew is a Member of the International College of Applied Kinesiology, from there he studied for a Diploma in Herbal Medicine and Nutrition. He has also studied Bodytalk, Educational Kinesiology and various specialist courses including AK and Special Needs with Tracey Gates DO DIBAK, Visceral AK with Dr Hans Garten MD DIBAK, NeuroInterlink with Dr Joe Shaffer DC DIBAK, Nerve Entrapment with Clive Lindley-Jones DO DIBAK.

Matthew has also studied Dr Walter Schmitt’s Quintessential Applications and Dr Michael Lebowitz Chronic Patient Protocol and was the first Osteopath in the UK to become a Quantum Neurology Certified Practitioner after studying with QN’s founder Dr George Gonzalez DC QNCP as well as attending further advanced training in Muscle Reset Technique, he has also studied Neuro Emotional Technique and Emotional Freedom Technique. He is a member of The Academy of Chiropractic Nutrition, a Member of the Association of Afferent Input Practitioners and a Member of the Academy of Physical Medicine. These trainings has taken him around the globe to seek out the very best education in order to keep improving his own practice.

Previously, Matthew has successfully led and practiced in 5 other practices with various Associates working with us. 10 years ago Matthew and Julie took the decision to consolidate their energies and focus on the one home practice which works very well. In the summer of 2020 their son, Josh Bourne will also graduate from the European School of Osteopathy and hopes to join the family practice and is also very interested in further study along the same lines as Matthew.

Due to the unique combination of skills the practice has gone from strength to strength and we now have a waiting list of approximately 3 years for New Patients. We are currently working on a Virtual Consultation Tele Health service which might be of service to those not necessarily requiring physical treatment.

Matthew is often asked what conditions does he treat? The simple answer is none..we treat the whole body and try to ensure that the 3 sides of the Triad of Health, Structural, Chemical and Emotional aspects are balanced allowing the persons own body to heal itself.
